 Drapery Trends In Mountain Homes

Today’s mountain homes bear little resemblance to the rustic cabins of yesteryear. In fact, they’re often elegant, classic spaces, designed as second homes, with all of the warmth and amenities of primary residences.

Custom drapes in mountain homes need to perform many functions, all of which take on more importance because of the harsher weather at high altitude.

We can create elegant, sophisticated window treatments for windows of all sizes, shapes, and locations, including:

•function drapes (pinch pleat drapery and Roman shades)

•form drapes (valances, panels, cornices, swags, and cascades)

Fabulous new linings are available that provide amazing insulation, while also blocking the damaging effects of the sun. One lining in particular, the Kenosha lining, is a napped, fleece lining that’s like attaching a fleece blanket to your windows.

To create custom draperies, we work directly with homeowners, as well as designers and decorators, who are local or out-of-state. We’re able to create custom draperies that far outshine and outperform anything that can be found on the shelves of retail stores.
